Started by Indian entrepreneur Uday Ahuja, this skincare brand has a unique USP of having waterless and concentrated skincare products that last longer. The brand launches in 2023 with a range of 14 skincare &amp; haircare products. I had the opportunity to work with them on their packaging, website and social media graphics. ProcessI worked closely with the founder Uday and with writer Pranav Mathur to create a visual strategy for the brand which would extend across packaging, website, social media and other communication material. The visual language of the brand is inspired from the Indian folk art of Pichwai - a 400 year old painting style that originated in Rajasthan, India. Pichwai is characterized by its intricacy and detail which we tried to bring into the visual language for Karmic. Visual elements inspired by India like the jharokha windows added to the set of Indian motifs that form the visual aesthetic of the brand. I worked with illustrator Boski Jain who created these. Colours were carefully curated across the set to match the brand colours of teal and golden yellow. Few ingredients illustrated were neem, triphala, sal butter, bakuchi, saffron, brahmi, sunflower, seabuckthorn, amla and many more. <img width="2000" height="1411" width_o="2000" height_o="1411" the visual language for the website. The typography, illustrations, icons, motifs and colour palette were carefully created to match the overall visual language of the brand.&nbsp; Floral motifs were created from the pacakging illustrations and were sprinkled across the wesbite. The jharokha window motif was used across the website to showcase images. We visited the meat processing centre to understand the process of how meat is received, stored, processed and packaged in the facility. The team conducted interviews with various employees and sent out qualitative and quantitative surveys to over 230+ employees to get insights on what Licians think of the company, the culture and their work. From this exercise and the derived insights, the people-centric culture of the organisation really stood out. We also learned that Licious is pioneering a revolution in the traditional Indian meat industry, and it owes its success to the talent and passion of its people. Based on these insights, a unique and creative EVP (Employee Value Proposition) was generated - You are the magic ingredient. This put the focus on the employees as the heroes of the organisation by calling them the ‘magic ingredients’ in the recipe for success. Visual languageThe visual language for the employer branding took cues from the new Licious logo and brand language. The brand tone of voice was warm, light and forthcoming and a lot of our design desicions and visual cues stemmed from that. The new logo had a hand-lettering structure to it and thus the team created the visual unit of the EVP statement in a similar visual aesthetic. The primary brand language was augmented with a couple of new typefaces and styles that complemented it. We took cues from handwritten recipe books and journals and added elements like highlights, handwritten fonts, polaroids, hand-drawn doodles and hand-lettered typography. To do this, we decided to keep the tone of the book humourous and informal. The visual treatments used were bold and typography-led and kept the reader wanting to turn the next page. Cartoons and doodles on company values and culture were interspersed within the book. The challenge was to create a fresh and relevant brand identity for Kuhoo that stands out in the fintech space. Solution Kuhoo is the Sound of Opportunity for anyone beginning their education and career journeys. With fine-tuned processes and technology, they make the process of getting a loan more accessible thus making higher education more accessible. Education changes lives and Kuhoo aims to have a big impact on the student’s family and thereby the society at large. The word ‘Kuhoo’ is an onomatopoeia - it’s the sound a Cuckoo bird makes. In India, this sound is said to bring prosperity to whoever hears it. We incorporated the sound aspect of the name into the logo and created a bold and memorable brand identity. This helped us understand how Kuhoo comes into the picture to ease the problem of acquiring an education loan.&nbsp; As Kuhoo enables opportunites for its customers and helps them achieve their dreams, the brand archetype “Hero” suited the brand very well. The 3 radiating sound lines emanating from Kuhoo symbolize opportunity and prosperity. The ‘Soundmark’ version of the logo, depicted on the left, works as a simple icon carrying the essence of the logo. The logotype as well as the typography selected for the brand is soft and rounded, depicting its friendly and approachable nature. A youthful colour palette was chosen for the identity - a vibrant blue depicting trust and impact and a bright yellow depicting positivity and opportunity. Challenge Amerald Care is a digital healthcare management platform connecting the patient, the healthcare provider, smart healthcare devices, the family/care assistant &amp; insurance all in one place. It primarily caters to people with chronic endocrine disorders like diabetes. We were tasked with creating the desktop and mobile application for Amerald. Solution Amerald’s main target audience consisted of two user personas - Doctors and Patients over 45 years -&nbsp; both of whom are not very tech savvy. The third user persona was the ‘Caregiver’ i.e the Patient’s family/caretaker who would monitor their health. The app features were vast and the team set out with the goal to create a simple and user friendly experience for all sets of target audiences. Here, the primary focus was to give the necessary health data to the patient at their finger tips. To do that, clear visualizations of data fed from the smart healthcare devices were depicted. Values were colour coded in red, orange and green to indicate seriousness. The dashboard also had a ‘Today’ counter at the top which indicated diet, exercise, medicines and sleep values for the day. This helped the patient keep track of their progress throughout the day. Their Montessori method of teaching creates better decision-makers and leaders of children. The school had a beautiful new campus that was designed keeping sustainability at the forefront. Airaa needed a new brand identity and it had to be inspirational. Solution The dream that was Airaa was formed in Amitha’s mind many decades ago. Her first endeavour, the much sought after pre-school Prayag, led her and her school to impact many young minds and develop a bond unlike any with parents and students alike. Thus the team spent a lot of time on the school campus, understanding the teaching methodologies, interacting with children and teachers, sitting in on classes and conducting workshops with parents to get their perspective. The logomark has 3 upward facing arrows that symbolize growth and the hidden child created between letters ‘i’ and ‘r’ is pointing towards that path - a path of growth. The 3 As in the logo stand for - Attitude, Aptitude, Aspiration. The colour palette selected was bright and cheerful; yellow stood for the energy that mirrored the students’ own and blue stood for the calm and soothing presence of the teachers. Illustrations were created from these basic shapes to form visuals that represented different facets of life at Airaa - like unique learning methologies, sports &amp; music activities, friendship, classy. The team designed signages that would compliment the beautiful school interiors.
